PETITSAT (also known as PetitSat) is a 6U CubeSat satellite built by GSFC and operated for ionospheric research purposes. It was launched on November 20, 1998, from Launch Complex 39A at TYSMC using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length and diameter with a span of 0.3 meters and weighs 10 kilograms both dry and at launch. Its equipment includes an Ionospheric Mass Spectrometer (INMS) and Grids for scientific measurements. It is powered by solar cells and batteries, maintaining its shape as a box without any specific color or AD/CS systems noted.
