The FLOCK 4Y-27 satellite, also known as Flock 4y-27, is a CubeSat (3U) configuration launched by PLAN on January 3, 2023, from the LC40 launch pad at AFETR using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. It has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length and diameter with a span of 0.3 meters. The satellite weighs approximately 5.7 kg both dry and at launch. Equipped with a PS0, PS1 or PS2 imaging payload (Dove 24c8), it is powered by solar cells and batteries. Designed for technology demonstration purposes, its expected operational lifetime varies from about one year in an ISS orbit to two to three years in a sun-synchronous orbit (SSO). The satellite has a box-like shape with two panels and no onboard motor except for some models which have FEEP propulsion systems.
