COSMOS 2238, also known as Kosmos-2238, is an ocean surveillance satellite passively monitoring oceans on behalf of VMFR (Russian Navy). Launched on March 30, 1993, from the TYMSC launch site using a Tsiklon-2 launch vehicle, this spacecraft has dimensions of 10 meters in length, 1.3 meters in diameter, and spans 17 meters with its deployed components. The satellite carries the payload US-PM No. 13L and was manufactured by ARSL/KOMET. It weighs 3300 kg at launch and 3000 kg dry mass, powered by two deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries. Its shape consists of a cylinder with two panels, and it has an RCS (Radiometric Cross Section) value of 22.0662.
