ARKTIKA-M 1 (Arktika-M No. 1) is a weather and emergency communications satellite operated by ROSK (Russian Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring). Launched on February 28, 2021, from the TSYMC launch site using Soyuz-2-1B as the launch vehicle, it has a dry mass of 2000 kg and was manufactured by NPOLO (NPO Lavochkin). The satellite is equipped with an MSU-GSM imager and transponders for meteorological and rescue systems. It has a box shape with two panels, measuring 4 meters in length, 2 meters in diameter, and spans 10 meters when the solar arrays are deployed. ARKTIKA-M 1 is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries and is designed to operate for up to 10 years.
