Summary
ATLANTIS (QBUS 2), also known as Atlantis, is a CubeSat (2U) satellite built by UMI and owned by UMI/QBUS for technology and thermospheric research purposes. It was launched on November 20, 1998, from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) using an Atlas V 401 launch vehicle from Launch Pad SLC41. The satellite measures 0.2 meters in length with a diameter of 0.1 meters and a span of 0.2 meters. It has a dry mass and launch mass of 2 kilograms each, powered by solar cells and batteries. Equipped with FIPEX equipment for its mission objectives, it operated for a lifetime of 3 months before becoming stable on May 26, 2017.
