STS 117, also known as Atlantis (STS-117), is a winged orbiter spacecraft operated by JSC and launched on June 8, 2007, from LC39A at the Kennedy Space Center using a Space Shuttle launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 37.3 meters in length and span, with a diameter of 23.8 meters. Its dry mass is 86,895 kg, while its launch mass was 95,466 kg. Atlantis is equipped with fuel cells and batteries for power and two OME (AJ10-190) motors. It was manufactured by BNAP and its mission purpose was to serve as a crewed spacecraft. The satellite's shape consists of a box with two wings and a fin.
