COSMOS 1630 (also known as Kosmos-1630) is a reconnaissance satellite launched by the Soviet Union on February 27, 1985, from the TYMSC launch site using LC31 and the Soyuz-U launch vehicle. The satellite has a configuration of Yantar Bus with a main reentry module and two small reentry capsules, designed for photographic reconnaissance missions that return film to Earth. It measures 6.3 meters in length, spans 6.3 meters, and has a diameter of 2.7 meters. Its dry mass is 2886 kg, which is also its launch mass. The satellite's power system consists of two deployable solar arrays and batteries. COSMOS 1630 was built by TSSKB for GUKOS (Main Directorate of Space Forces) and carries the payload Kobal't No. 823. Its shape is described as cylindrical with two pans, and it has a cross-sectional area of 66.17 square meters.
