The spacecraft has a Zenit-6 bus configuration and is equipped with an Argon No. 96L payload for photo reconnaissance, utilizing film return technology. It measures 6 meters in length and diameter, with a span of 6 meters, and had a dry mass of 2655 kg at launch. The satellite's power system relies on batteries. Its mission was conducted by GUKOS (Main Directorate for Space Reconnaissance) from the Soviet Union, and it operated for approximately 14 days in orbit.
