DYNAMICS EXPLORER 2, also known as Dynamics Explorer 2, is an American satellite launched on August 3, 1981, from AFWTR SLC2W using the Delta 3913 launch vehicle. The satellite has a configuration of a 16-sided prism with dimensions of 1.1 meters in length and 1.4 meters in diameter, and its span is 22 meters. It was manufactured by RCA for GSFC (Goddard Space Flight Center) to conduct magnetospheric research. Weighing 403 kilograms dry, the satellite had a launch mass of 420 kilograms and utilized solar cells and batteries for power supply. The shape of the satellite is described as cylindrical with two antennas attached. Its mission was dedicated to advancing understanding in magnetospheric research.
