Summary
QUEQIAO-2, also known as Queqiao-2, is a satellite built by CLEP/CAST and operated by CLEP for China (CN). Launched on March 20, 2024, from Launch Complex 201 at the Wenchang Spacecraft Launch Site (WSC) using the Chang Zheng 8 launch vehicle, QUEQIAO-2 has a configuration based on the CAST-2000 bus. The satellite measures approximately 2.5 meters in length and 2 meters in diameter with a span of 4.2 meters when its solar panels are deployed. It has a dry mass of 1000 kg and a launch mass of 1200 kg. Equipped with relay payload and an NCLE low-frequency radio detector, QUEQIAO-2 is designed for lunar orbiter, relay, and radio astronomy missions. The satellite's power comes from two deployable solar arrays and batteries, enabling it to operate in space for more than eight years. Its shape consists of a box structure with additional panels and a dish antenna.
