STARLINK-5000, also known as Starlink 5000, is a communication satellite operated by SpaceX (SPXS). It was launched on September 24, 2022, from the Air Force Eastern Test Range at Launch Complex 40 using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures approximately 0.2 meters in length with a diameter of 2.8 meters and a span of 9 meters. Equipped with solar arrays and batteries for power, it has a dry mass of 290 kilograms and a launch mass of 305 kilograms. The satellite is equipped with Ku/Ka-band payload capabilities and an optical inter-satellite link. Its propulsion system uses krypton ion thrusters. The mission of STARLINK-5000 is to provide communication services as part of the Starlink Group 4-35-50 constellation.
