RCM-1, also known as RCM 1, is an Earth observation satellite equipped with C-Band SAR and AIS-receiver technology. Launched on June 12, 2019, from AFWTR SLC4E using a Falcon 9 launch vehicle, the spacecraft measures 5 meters in length, has a diameter of 1.4 meters, and spans 7 meters when its panels are extended. It was manufactured by BALM/MAXAR for CSA (Canadian Space Agency) with a SmallSAT bus configuration. The satellite's dry mass is 1400 kg and it had a launch mass of 1450 kg. Powered by fixed solar arrays and batteries, RCM-1 has a mission lifetime of seven years and operates in a box shape with two panels for its Earth observation radar missions as part of the Radarsat Constellation Mission.
