Summary
The FLOCK 3K-9 satellite, also known as Flock 3k-9, is a CubeSat (3U) technology demonstration satellite owned and manufactured by PLAN in the United States. Launched on December 27, 2018, from VOSTO launch site using Soyuz-2-1A launch vehicle, it has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length, 0.1 meters in diameter, and a span of 0.3 meters. The satellite has a dry mass and launch mass of 4.7 kilograms each and is equipped with PS0, PS1 or PS2 imaging payload named Dove 1065 for Earth observation purposes. It uses solar cells and batteries for power generation. Its expected lifetime varies between approximately one year when in the International Space Station (ISS) orbit and two to three years when in Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The satellite has a box shape with two panels and does not have a motor, except for specific models designated as #Flock-3p' which use FEEP technology.
