The satellite MIRATA (also known as MiRaTA) is a CubeSat 3U configuration manufactured by MIT and operated by MIT/MITLL. It was launched on November 18, 2017, from AFWTR using the Delta 7920-10C launch vehicle from SLC2W pad. The satellite has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length and diameter with a span of 0.3 meters. Its dry mass is 4 kilograms, while its launch mass was 4.19 kilograms. MIRATA is equipped with equipment such as a microwave radiometer, tri-band atmospheric sounder, and compact TEC/atmospheric GPS sensor (CTAGS). The satellite's power system consists of two deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries. Its primary mission is Earth observation and technology demonstration, with an operational lifetime of 90 days.
