Summary
IRIDIUM 113, also known as Iridium Next SV113, is a communication and traffic monitoring satellite owned by IRIDS. It was launched on June 25, 2017, from the AFWTR launch site using the Falcon 9 rocket. The satellite has dimensions of 3.1 meters in length, 1.5 meters in diameter, and a span of 9.4 meters. Its dry mass is 700 kilograms, and it had a launch mass of 860 kilograms. Equipped with a L-band payload, Ka-band cross-links and downlinks, and an ADS-B payload among other equipment, IRIDIUM 113 was designed for a ten-year lifetime but planned for fifteen years of operation. Its power is provided by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellite's shape consists of a half hexagonal prism with two panels, manufactured under the BUS configuration EliteBus-1000 by OATKGA.
