Summary
ICECUBE (also known as IceCube) is a 3U CubeSat satellite operated by GSFC (Goddard Space Flight Center), launched on November 20, 1998, from the TYSMC SLC41 launch site using an Atlas V 401 launch vehicle. The satellite measures 0.3 meters in length and 0.1 meters in diameter with a span of 0.5 meters. It has a dry mass and launch mass of 4 kilograms each. Equipped with an 874 GHz radiometer for Earth sciences, ICECUBE is powered by two deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries. Its shape consists of a box structure with two panels. The satellite's design lifetime was intended to be three months but extended to one year. It stabilized on May 16, 2017.
