COLUMBIA (QBUS 4), also known as Columbia Sat, is a CubeSat (2U) satellite manufactured by TURAB and launched on November 20, 1998, from the TYMSC launch site using an Atlas V 401 launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 0.2 meters in length, 0.1 meters in diameter, and spans 0.2 meters across with a dry mass of 2 kg. It was part of the QB50-US04/QBUS 4 payload for technology and thermospheric research purposes. Equipped with solar cells and batteries for power supply, it conducted its mission for approximately three months before reaching a stable date on May 16, 2017. The satellite's purpose is to conduct technology demonstrations and thermospheric research in space.
