Summary
KOREASAT 7, also known as Koreasat 7, is a communication satellite owned by KTSAT and manufactured by THALES using the Spacebus-4000C4 configuration based on the Spacebus 4000B2 bus. It was launched on May 4, 2017, from the ELA3 launch pad at Guiana Space Centre (FRGUI) aboard an Ariane 5ECA launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 3.4 meters in length and 1.8 meters in diameter with a span of 30 meters due to its solar arrays. It carries a payload consisting of 50 Ka-band transponders and 7 X-band transponders, providing communication services. At launch, it had a mass of 3500 kg and a dry mass of 1500 kg. KOREASAT 7 is equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation and is designed to operate for up to 18 years in orbit. The satellite's shape consists of a box-like structure with two panels, which includes its solar arrays.
