FLOCK 3P-45, also known as Flock 3p-45, is a CubeSat (3U) technology satellite launched on February 15, 2017, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre using the PSLV-XL launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 0.3 meters in length and has a diameter of 0.1 meters with a span of 0.3 meters. It weighs 4.7 kilograms both at launch and dry mass. Equipped with a PS0, PS1 or PS2 imaging payload known as Dove 101A, the satellite is solar-powered with batteries on board for energy storage. Manufactured by PLAN (Planet Labs), FLOCK 3P-45 operates in low Earth orbit with an expected lifetime of approximately one year when launched into an ISS orbit and two to three years if placed in Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The shape of the satellite is described as a box with two panels, featuring a reflective surface area of 0.061 square meters for visibility tracking purposes.
