FLOCK 1B-16, also known as Flock 1b-16, is a CubeSat (3U) satellite launched by PLABS from the US on November 20, 1998, using an Antares 120 launch vehicle from Pad 0A at TYMSC. It has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length and diameter, with a span also measuring 0.3 meters. The satellite's dry mass is 4.5 kg, the same as its launch mass. Equipped with PS0, PS1 or PS2 imaging payload (Dove 081D), FLOCK 1B-16 serves technology demonstration purposes and uses solar cells along with batteries for power supply. Its shape is described as a box with two panels, and it has a radar cross-section of 0.084 square meters. The satellite's expected operational lifetime varies from about one year when in the International Space Station (ISS) orbit to between 2-3 years in sun-synchronous orbit (SSO). It was stabilized by August 2014, and no other major events or specific constellation affiliations are noted for this particular satellite.
