Summary
The satellite FLOCK 1-25 (also known as Flock 1-26) is a CubeSat 3U technology demonstration spacecraft launched by Planetary Labs (PLABS) on November 20, 1998, from the Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (TYMSC), Pad 0A, using an Antares 120 launch vehicle. The satellite measures 0.3 meters in length and span with a diameter of 0.1 meter, featuring a box shape with two solar panels. It has a dry mass of 4.25 kg, identical to its launch mass, and is equipped with PS0, PS1, or PS2 imaging payload known as Dove 0744 for capturing Earth imagery. FLOCK 1-25's power comes from solar cells and batteries, and it operates in a technology demonstration role with an expected lifetime of about one year in International Space Station (ISS) orbit or two to three years in Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The satellite was stabilized by its manufacturer on February 27, 2014.
