The satellite FLOCK 1-3 (also known as Flock 1-03) is a CubeSat 3U technology demonstration satellite manufactured by PLABS and owned by the same entity. Launched on November 20, 1998, from the TYMSC launch site using the Antares 120 launch vehicle, it has dimensions of 0.3 meters in length and span with a diameter of 0.1 meters. The satellite's dry mass is 4.25 kg, and its mission includes carrying imaging payloads designated as PS0, PS1 or PS2. It uses solar cells and batteries for power generation. FLOCK 1-3 was stabilized on February 11, 2014, and has a typical lifetime of about 1 year in an International Space Station (ISS) orbit or 2 to 3 years in Sun-Synchronous Orbit (SSO). The satellite's shape consists of a box with two panels and has a radar cross-section (RCS) value of 0.1068, but it does not feature a motor except for some instances with FEEP propulsion (#Flock-3p').
