It was manufactured by EADSB and launched on September 29, 2013, from the TYMSC launch site using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle from LC200/39 pad. The satellite is configured as Eurostar-3000 with dimensions of 6.8 meters in length, 2.8 meters in diameter, and spans 39.8 meters when deployed. Astra 2E has a dry mass of 3000 kg and was launched with a total mass of 6052 kg.
