HTV-3 (KOUNOTORI 3), also known as Kounotori 3 gouki, is a supply spacecraft operated by JAXA. Launched on July 21, 2012, from the Tanegashima Space Center using an H-IIB launch vehicle, this satellite measures 9.8 meters in length and has a diameter of 4.4 meters with a span of 9.8 meters. It carries a dry mass of 8700 kilograms and had a launch mass of 15400 kilograms. The mission's purpose was to supply materials, primarily for the International Space Station (ISS). Its power system includes solar cells mounted on its body and batteries. HTV-3 was designed with a cylindrical shape and is equipped with HBT-5 x 4 motors, offering it a stable orbit and operational lifetime of about 30 days in space.
