Summary
SKYTERRA 1, also known as SkyTerra 1, is a communication satellite with the OBJECT_ID 2010-061A and NORAD_CAT_ID 37218. It was launched on November 14, 2010, from TYMSC LC200/39 using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle by BOES for the owner SKYTE. The satellite is configured as BSS-702GEM (Geomobile) with dimensions of 22 meters in length and 29 meters in diameter, and has a span of 41 meters. It weighs 3000 kg dry and was launched with a mass of 5360 kg. SKYTERRA 1 is equipped with L-band and Ku-band transponders for communication purposes and powered by two deployable solar arrays providing up to 14 kW at the beginning of life (BoL) and 13 kW at end of life (EoL). Its primary mission is communication, and it has a designed lifetime of 15 years. The satellite's shape consists of a box with dishes and two panels and was stabilized by November 15, 2010.
