HTV-1, also known as HTV 1, is a supply satellite owned by JAXA and manufactured by MHITO. It was launched on September 10, 2009, from the Tanegashima Space Center using the H-IIB launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 9.8 meters in length and 4.4 meters in diameter, with a span also of 9.8 meters. Its dry mass is 8,000 kilograms, and it had a launch mass of 16,500 kilograms. HTV-1 operates on solar cells mounted on its body along with batteries for power supply. The satellite's mission was to deliver supplies as part of the HTV 1 Gijutso jissho-ki payload. Its shape is cylindrical and has an RCS area of 6.7032 square meters. HTV-1 had a designed lifetime of 30 days in orbit.
