It was launched on August 29, 2008, from the TYMSC launch site in Kazakhstan aboard a Dnepr launch vehicle from LC109/95. The spacecraft has dimensions of approximately 1 meter in length and diameter, with a dry mass of 140 kilograms and a launch mass of 152 kilograms. It is equipped with a CCD-based Earth imaging system for its observation mission.
