Summary
AMOS-3, also known as Amos 3, is a communication satellite launched by Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) on April 28, 2008, from the Tymshchuk Sea Launch Base using a Zenit-3SLB launch vehicle. With a dry mass of 968 kg and a launch mass of 1360 kg, it measures 2.7 meters in length, has a diameter of 2 meters, and a span of 11 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. The satellite is equipped with 15 Ku- and Ka-band transponders for communication purposes and powered by two deployable solar arrays complemented by batteries. Its design includes a box shape with two panels and an AOCS (Attitude and Orbit Control System) for stabilization. AMOS-3 was designed to operate for approximately 18 years, serving as part of Israel's communication satellite network owned by IAI Space Systems.
