CARTOSAT-2A (also known as Cartosat 2A) is an Earth observation satellite operated by ISRO and manufactured using the IRS-2 Bus configuration. Launched on April 28, 2008, from SRILR launch site with PSLV as the launch vehicle, it has a dry mass of 600 kilograms and a total length and diameter of 2 meters each, with a span of 6 meters due to its solar arrays. Equipped with a panchromatic camera and multispectral cameras for Earth observation, CARTOSAT-2A was designed to operate for five years. Its power generation is achieved through two deployable solar arrays and batteries. The satellite's shape consists of a hexagonal cylinder with two panoramic components and has an RCS of 2.316.
