CARTOSAT-2 (IRS-P7), also known as Cartosat-2, is an Earth observation satellite launched by ISRO on January 10, 2007, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre using a PSLV launch vehicle. It has a configuration based on the IRS-2 Bus and measures approximately 2 meters in length and diameter with a span of 6 meters. The spacecraft carries a panchromatic camera and multispectra cameras for Earth observation and has a dry mass of 680 kilograms, matching its launch mass. Equipped with two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power generation, CARTOSAT-2 was designed to operate for five years in orbit. It is owned by ISRO and manufactured by the same entity. The satellite's shape consists of a hexagonal cylindrical body with two panoramic cameras.
