LDREX-2 is an engineering test satellite launched by JAXA on October 13, 2006, from Guiana Space Centre using an Ariane 5ECA launch vehicle. The spacecraft measures 1.8 meters in length and has a diameter of 0.7 meters with a span of 6.5 meters, featuring a box plus dish shape. It had a dry mass of 149 kilograms, the same as its launch mass, and was powered by batteries. The satellite's mission lasted only 20 minutes and consisted of deploying a reflector, camera, and support equipment that remained on the ASAP platform.
