GSAT0001 (GIOVE-A), also known as Giove A, is a navigation satellite operated by ESA. It was launched on December 28, 2005, from the TYMSC launch site at LC31 using a Soyuz-FG launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 1.3 meters in length and 1.8 meters in diameter with a span of 11 meters. Its dry mass is 550 kg and it had an initial launch mass of 600 kg.
