EPOXI (DEEP IMPACT) is a US satellite launched on January 12, 2005, from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station's SLC17B using the Delta 7925-9.5 launch vehicle. With dimensions of 3.3 meters in length and diameter, and spanning 3.3 meters, it has a dry mass of 515 kilograms and was launched with a mass of 601 kilograms. The satellite is shaped as a box with a plate configuration and was manufactured by BALL for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL). Its mission involved comet impact and flyby operations, utilizing a fixed solar array and batteries for power supply. EPOXI achieved an operational lifetime of approximately 8.5 years, exceeding its nominal lifespan of 8 months.
