Summary
AMC-15, also known as AMC 15 and Payload Americom 15, is a communication satellite operated by AMCS (American Mobile Satellite Corporation). Launched on October 14, 2004, from the Tsemek Space Center (TYMSC) in Kazakhstan using a Proton-M/Briz-M launch vehicle, it has been stable since October 15, 2004. The satellite is based on the A2100AXS configuration and manufactured by LMCSS (Lockheed Martin Commercial Space Systems). It measures 6 meters in length, 3.6 meters in diameter, with a span of 26 meters due to its solar arrays. At launch, it had a mass of 4021 kg, reducing to a dry mass of 1200 kg. Equipped with 24 Ku-band and 12 Ka-band transponders for communication services, the satellite is powered by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. Its shape consists of a box structure with two panels. With a designed lifetime of 15 years, AMC-15 serves its mission to provide communication services.
