AMOS-2 is a communication satellite, also known as Amos 2, launched on December 27, 2003, from the Tsimlyanskaya Launch Site using the Soyuz-FG launch vehicle from LC31 pad. The satellite has dimensions of 2.7 meters in length and 2.1 meters in diameter with a span of 11 meters. It uses an AMOS Bus configuration and was manufactured by IAI for Israel Aerospace Industries (IAIS). Equipped with 22 (+6) Ku-band transponders, the satellite has a dry mass of 646 kg and launched at a total mass of 1350 kg. Its power system includes two deployable solar arrays and batteries.
