IRS-P6 (RESOURCESAT-1), also known as Resourcesat, is an Earth observation satellite operated by ISRO. Launched on October 17, 2003, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre using a PSLV launch vehicle, it has dimensions of 2.8 meters in length and 2 meters in diameter with a span of 12 meters when its solar arrays are deployed. The satellite's dry mass is 1300 kilograms and it was designed to have a lifetime of five years. It is equipped with LISS-III, LISS-IV, and AWiFS instruments for earth observation purposes.
