The PROGRESS-M 47 satellite, also known as Progress M-47, is a cargo spacecraft with a BUS type of 7K-TGM and was launched on February 2, 2003, from the TSYMC launch site using the Soyuz-U-PVB launch vehicle. It has dimensions of 7.9 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and spans 7.9 meters with a dry mass of 4600 kg and a launch mass of 7230 kg. The satellite was manufactured by PROGT for RKKE and is equipped with two deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries for power supply. Its mission purpose was to transport cargo, specifically the Progress 7K-TGM No. 247 payload, to the International Space Station (ISS). The spacecraft's shape consists of a sphere, cone, cylinder, and two panels, and it uses an 11D428A motor for propulsion.
