Summary
The INTEGRAL satellite, also known as Integral, was launched on October 17, 2002, from the Tyuratam Space Center (TYMSC) using a Proton-K/17S40 launch vehicle from Launch Pad LC200/39. It has a length of 6 meters, diameter of 3.2 meters, and span of 16 meters. The spacecraft was designed with a Box + Cyl + 2 Pan shape and consists of the XMM Servicemodule with an experiment module configuration. Its dry mass is 3414 kg and its launch mass was 3954 kg. INTEGRAL is equipped with SPI, IBIS, OMC, JEM-X instruments for astronomical gamma-ray observations and powered by two deployable solar arrays along with batteries. The mission, owned by ESA (European Space Agency), has a planned lifetime of up to five years but remains active beyond the minimum two-year operation period. It was manufactured by ALEN and is stabilized using an AOCS system.
