Summary
The KOLIBRI-2000 satellite, also known as Kolibri, has the NORAD catalog ID 27394 and was launched on November 26, 2001, from the Tymshchuk Site (TYMSC) using a Soyuz-FG launch vehicle. It was designed for magnetospheric research and amateur communication purposes by the Institute of Space Research (IKI), under ownership of Russian Kosmonavtika i Kosmicheskaya Tekhnika Ehtnikiy Konsortium (RKKE). The satellite has a hexagonal cylindrical shape with an antenna, measures 0.5 meters in length and 0.2 meters in diameter, and has a span of 2 meters due to its four deployable solar arrays and gravity gradient boom. It weighs 27 kilograms both at launch and dry mass. Equipped with instruments such as a particle analyzer, electrical field analyzer, and an electrical field flux-gate magnetometer, the satellite was stabilized for operations by March 19, 2002. The spacecraft's power generation comes from its solar arrays and batteries, and it has a radar cross-section of 0.3244 square meters.
