The ETS-VII TARGET satellite, also known as Orihime, is a technology demonstration spacecraft with NORAD catalog ID 25424 and object ID 1997-074E. It was launched on November 27, 1997, from Tanegashima Space Center (TANSC) in Japan using an H-II launch vehicle. The satellite is owned by NASDA and manufactured by TOSH. Its dimensions are 1.7 meters in length, 0.7 meters in diameter, and it has a span of 8 meters. Weighing 410 kilograms at launch, the satellite's dry mass remains the same. It features two deployable solar arrays for power generation along with batteries to support its mission as an ETS-7 target. The shape is described as "Box + Pan" and it has a radar cross-section (RCS) of 15.4011 square meters. Its purpose was technology demonstration, contributing to advancements in satellite-based technologies.
