COSMOS 2358 (also known as Kosmos-2358) is a reconnaissance satellite launched by Russia on June 24, 1998, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome LC43/3 using a Soyuz-U-PVB launch vehicle. The satellite has a configuration of a Yantar Bus with a main reentry module and two small reentry capsules. It measures 6.3 meters in length, 2.7 meters in diameter, and has the same span as its length. COSMOS 2358 has a dry mass of 2886 kg and was manufactured by PROGT for reconnaissance purposes using film return technology. The satellite's power is provided by two deployable solar arrays and batteries. It belongs to the VKSR organization and carries the payload Kobal't No. 550, designed for photo reconnaissance missions.
