IRIDIUM 37, also known as Iridium SV035, is a communication satellite launched on September 27, 1997, from AFWTR SLC2W using the Delta 7920-10C launch vehicle. The spacecraft has dimensions of 3.5 meters in length, 1 meter in diameter, and spans 5 meters with its deployable solar arrays which provide power along with batteries. It was manufactured by MOTO/LMMS based on the LM-700A configuration and weighs 662 kilograms at launch, reducing to a dry mass of 556 kilograms. The satellite is designed for an operational lifetime of approximately 8 years and has a shape described as Box + 2 Pan with a radar cross-section (RCS) of 3.1315 m^2. It operates in support of the Iridium constellation's communication mission, owned by IRID.
