Summary
SPEKTR (also known as Spektr) is a Russian space station module launched on May 20, 1995, from the Tyuratam Space Center's LC81/23 launch pad using a Proton-K launch vehicle. It was designed for a three-year mission and has a dry mass of 19,500 kg with an initial launch mass of 22,000 kg. SPEKTR measures 15 meters in length, 4.1 meters in diameter, and has the same span as its length. The module is based on the 77KS configuration, manufactured by KHRU for RKKE (Russian Space Agency). It was equipped with four deployable solar arrays and batteries to power the payload designated as 77KSO No. 173-01. SPEKTR's shape consists of a stepped cylinder with two pans.
