COSMOS 2229, also known as Kosmos-2229, is a Life Science satellite belonging to Russia (RU), launched on December 29, 1992, from the PLMSC launch site using a Soyuz-U-PVB rocket. The satellite was manufactured by TSSKB and operated under the ownership of IMBP/TSSKB. It has a configuration known as the Zenit Bus and uses batteries for power supply. With dimensions of 6.5 meters in length and diameter, and a span of 6.5 meters, COSMOS 2229 weighs approximately 2040 kg at launch. Its mission involves life science research, and it is equipped with the Bion No. 10 payload. The satellite's lifetime was expected to be between 5-22 days, and its shape consists of a sphere with a DCone design.
