The EUVE satellite, officially designated 1992-031A and known by its NORAD CAT ID 21987, is an American astronomy satellite designed for extreme UV observations. Launched on June 7, 1992, from Cape Canaveral's Launch Complex 17A using a Delta 6920-10 launch vehicle, it measures approximately 4 meters in length and has a diameter of 2.1 meters with a span of 10 meters. The satellite weighs 3,280 kilograms at launch and is equipped with three grazing incidence UV telescopes operating between 80 and 900 angstroms and an EUV spectrometer covering 80 to 500 angstroms. It uses two deployable solar arrays and batteries for power. The satellite's structure consists of a box configuration augmented by two panels, designed to support its astronomy mission.
