STS 49, also known as Endeavour (STS-49), is a winged orbiter spacecraft launched on May 7, 1992, from LC39B at the Kennedy Space Center using a Space Shuttle launch vehicle. The satellite has dimensions of 37.3 meters in length and span with a diameter of 23.8 meters. It weighs approximately 86,470 kg dry and was launched with a mass of 96,115 kg. Manufactured by RWI for the US, it is owned by JSC and has a mission to serve as a crewed spacecraft. The spacecraft is equipped with fuel cells and batteries for power and two OME (AJ10-190) motors for propulsion. Its shape is described as a box with wings and fins.
