PROGRESS-M 12, also known as Progress M-12, is a cargo spacecraft with the OBJECT_ID 1992-022A and NORAD_CAT_ID 21946. It was launched on April 19, 1992, from Tyuratam (TYMSC) Launch Pad LC1 using a Soyuz-U2 launch vehicle. The satellite measures 7.9 meters in length with a diameter of 2.7 meters and a span of 7.9 meters. At launch, it had a mass of 7320 kg and a dry mass of 4500 kg. It was manufactured by NPOE (NPO Energia) and its mission was to transport cargo. The satellite is equipped with KTDU-80 (S5.80) motors for propulsion, and its power system consists of two deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries. Its shape is described as a sphere plus cone plus cylinder plus panel. It serves the purpose of cargo transportation in space.
