Summary
MAGION 3, also known as Magion-3, is a scientific satellite dedicated to magnetosphere research launched on December 18, 1991, from the PLMSC launch site using the Tsiklon-3 launch vehicle from LC32/2. The satellite was manufactured by GICZ and has dimensions of 0.9 meters in length, 0.6 meters in diameter, and a span of 2 meters. It weighed 52 kilograms at launch and has the same dry mass. Equipped with an octagonal cylindrical body plus four panels and two antennas, it uses eight deployable fixed solar arrays and batteries for power supply. The satellite reached its stable orbit on December 28, 1991, and carries a payload designated as S2-AP. It was owned by CSFR (Czechoslovakia) at the time of launch.
