Summary
COSMOS 2165, also known as Kosmos-2165, is a military communication satellite launched on November 12, 1991, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome LC32/1 launch pad using the Tsiklon-3 launch vehicle. The spacecraft, manufactured by NPOPM and belonging to the Strela-3 bus series, has dimensions of 1.6 meters in length, 0.8 meters in diameter, and a span of 7 meters with its antennas deployed. It weighed 225 kilograms at launch and also has the same dry mass. The satellite is powered by solar cells and batteries and was designed for military communication purposes.
