COSMOS 2142 (also known as Kosmos-2142) is a satellite originally from the Soviet Union (SU), launched on April 16, 1991, from the Plesetsk Cosmodrome using a Kosmos 11K65M launch vehicle. With a configuration known as KAUR-1 and manufactured by POL, this satellite has dimensions of 5 meters in length, 2.1 meters in diameter, and spans up to 17 meters with its antennas. It carries the Parus No. 602 payload and serves for navigation and data relay purposes. The dry mass is recorded at 800 kilograms, which is also its launch mass. Its shape consists of a cylindrical body plus antennae, with a RCS (Reflectivity Coefficient Surface) of 1.9052. Power supply comes from solar cells and batteries.
